The Maguindanao massacre is getting worst. Today’s update was there is a total of 57 dead bodies found on the crime scene including Mangudadatu family member, but until now not all of them have been indentified, there are 33 men and 24 women, 22 victims were believed to be journalist making this event as the deadliest media killings anywhere on the world. This massive killing happened last Monday November 23, 2009 when a caravan of political supporters and journalists was on their way to file up election papers for candidacy this coming 2010 election. Their convoy was stopped by about 100 armed men, who herded them to a remote hillside and attacked them with M-16 rifles and machetes. Two of their vehicles and many bodies were thrown into a freshly dug pit and covered with earth by an excavator. The Mangudadatus have blamed supporters of the Ampatuans for the massacre, but no arrests have been made and government officials were guarded in their comments. The massacre has been condemned around the world, the United Nation Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called it a “heinous crime”. I hope justice will soon find its way about this horrifying crime, and I hope there will be no back stage scene occur during the invistigation. May God be with them always.
